Why does my leg hurt?
Leg pain can be described by pain in the groin, hip, thigh and or shin. Many hip and low back pathologies can be accompanied by pain in the leg, and it can be described as stabbing, shar, dull ache, or spasms. Sudden leg pain is typically associated with a sprain or a strain, but can also be due to a distant injury which is referring to pain into your leg. Sprains and strains of the muscles in the leg are most due to their overuse in sports or activity. and may also result from sudden explosive movements such as sprinting. Soft tissue (i.e. muscle and tendons) injuries can be evaluated and treated by a physical therapist. Areas of the leg that can easily experience pain include the inner thigh, outer thigh, groins, knee, calves and ankles. Some Other signs and symptoms associated c leg pain:
- Pain when stretching or flexing thigh muscles
- Leg weakness
- Bruising
- Muscle spasms
